Director Of ‘Half A Yellow Sun’, Biyi Bandele Passes Away At 54

Nigerian novelist and filmmaker, Biyi Bandele has passed away.

According to sources, he passed away on Sunday at the age of 54; the cause of his death is still unknown.

The novelist was born in October 1967 in Kafanchan. He studied at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He was a UK based Nigerian writer for fiction, theater, journalism, television, film and radio. He moved to London in 1990.

The news of his demise was broken by his daughter, Temi Bandele, who took to Facebook to announce his passing.

The playwright is popular for directing the movie adaptation of ‘Half of a yellow sun’ by Chimamanda Adichie and also directing the popular series ‘Blood Sisters’.
