Popular songstress, Ayra Starr has stated that female artistes are not usually held to the same standards as their male counterparts.
The singer made this known while speaking in a recent interview with Saturday Beats.
She stated how grateful she is for her senior female colleagues who had paved way for budding female artistes like herself, however, female and male singers are not treated equally.
In her words:
”I am grateful to the women who came before me, who paved the way, Because of them, I am not dealing with so much. However, there is still that issue of female artistes being scrutinized more than their male colleagues. Female artistes are not held to the same standard as the males.
She also spoke on her recently released hit single “Sability” which has been getting glowing reviews from appreciative fans.
