American rapper and singer, Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, better known by the stage name Future came through with this trap song he labeled “Codeine Crazy”.
“Codeine Crazy“ is all about Future’s experience with purple drank or lean—a recreational beverage consisting of codeine cough syrup and soda. The song sounds celebratory as it’s delivered over a trippy and upbeat instrumental, but it addresses topics like suicide and loneliness, making it one of Future’s most vulnerable records.
It is important to note that producer TM88 revealed that the beat was made for Nicki Minaj’s 2014 album, The Pinkprint, but after missing the deadline, it was sent to Future instead.
