Mason Greenwood Granted Another Bail After Being Rearrested

Manchester United footballer, Mason Greenwood will be released from jail later today after being granted bail at a private hearing.

Recall that the 21 year old player was first arrested in January after social media images and videos were posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence. He was then charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behavior.

He was subsequently released on bail but was arrested in Trafford area on Saturday for an alleged breach of his first bail conditions.

Upon being arrested last weekend, he was remanded in custody after appearing at Manchester and Salford Magistrate’s court on Monday.

However, Judge John Potter granted Mason Greenwood bail after a short hearing at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court today.

Greenwood was not present at the brief hearing in the court this morning, and the court process was held in private with the press having to watch outside Court 4.

His bail conditions mean he has to stay at his rented home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, and is not allowed to contact the complainant or a string of witnesses.

The forward, who has made one appearance for England, has been suspended from playing or training with the Old Trafford Club.

Nike also suspended and terminated its sponsorship deal with him, while Electronic Arts confirmed he had been removed from active squads its FIFA 22 game.
