Grammy award-winning American rapper cum songwriter, Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, better known by his stage name Nas comes through with this new song labeled “Death Row East”.
The song which was officially released on August 6, 2021, was taken off his album collection titled “King’s Disease II”.
On “Death Row East,” Nas recalls squashing his beef with 2Pac. Their feud began after Tupac interpreted a lyric from Nas’ “The Message” as a diss.
Death Row East was supposed to be the East Coast branch of Death Row Records. 2Pac and Death Row wanted to show they were more than the East-West rivalry by uniting all their artists together. However, Death Row East never formed due to 2Pac’s passing on September 13, 1996—a day before Nas’ birthday.
Finally, the production credit for the song “Death Row East” goes to Corbett & Hit-Boy.
