Rema has added another impressive achievement to his feat.
His 2022 song, ‘Calm Down’ has sold over 500,000 copies in the US. According to the Recording industry Association of America (RIAA), a song or record eligible for a gold certification, it has sold over 500,000 units in the United States.
Rema’s Gold certification has earned him the title of the youngest and fastest Afrobeat artist to be certified in both BRIT and RIAA. He has broken the record held by Davido with ‘IF’ for being fastest Afrobeat song to be certified Gold in the US.
Rema also beat Wizkid’s record for ‘Essence’ being the fastest Afrobeat song to be certified Gold and Platinum in the US.
