Nigerian- born footballer and Arsenal youngster, Ethan Nwaneri has become the youngest footballer to make a premier league appearance.
The attacking midfielder made an appearance today, September 18th, by coming in as a substitute in the 90th minute in the clash against Brentford, which Arsenal won by 3-0.
With the likes of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith-Rowe unavailable due to injury, the schoolboy replaced goal-scoring full debutant Fabio Vieria for added time.
Ethan Nwaneri, who was born in March 2007, a full year after Arsenal Emirates Stadium was opened, is now the youngest-ever Arsenal player and the youngest star to feature in the Premier League.
The player, now 15 years and 161 days old, takes the baton from Liverpool’s Harvey Elliot who was 16 years and 30 days when he came on for Fulham. Ethan is also a full year younger than Fabregas was when he made his Arsenal debut in 2003.
He already has four goals and assists in four league games between the U18s and U21’s this campaign.
Eligible for England and Nigeria at the international level, the youngster has thus far made seven appearances up to the under-17 level with England, bagging a goal and an assist for them as they beat Mexico in April.
It was also gathered that some big clubs in the world such as Manchester United and Barcelona are keeping tabs on him.
