Nigerian Lady Honored As A General In The US Army

A Nigerian woman, Amanda Azubuike, has been made a Brigadier General of the United States Army.

She was recently decorated at a military facility in Fort Knox, Kentucky, in the United States.

Amanda Azubuike was born in London, UK, entered the US army in 1994 and was later commissioned as an aviator after graduating from the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.

General James Rainey, commander of the US army Futures command, remarked on Azubuike’s leadership potential that makes everyone around her better.

The newly made General started out in the aviation sector. She did an 11years stint in the sector before continuing her career as a public affairs and relations officer in the military.

Azubuike previously held the position of Chief of Staff/Senior Military Advisor at the office of the Secretary of Defense and is currently a Deputy Commanding Officer at the US Army Cadet Command.

Asides her military qualifications, she holds a B.Sc degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Central Arkansas, an M.Sc of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, and a Master of Professional Studies, Public Relations/Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
