Police Clashes With Commerical Motorist In Lagos Following Okada Ban

Tensions are high in Idi-Araba, Lagos State, as police officers clash with commercial motorcyclists in the state following the ban on Okada ride in the state.

Previously, the governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu had imposed a ban on the operations of okapi riders in six Local Governments Areas of the state after a group of riders burnt a man identified as David Imoh to death over N100 million.

The ban was expected to start on June 1, but there wasn’t effective compliance, as the police had to effect it by force by seizing several motorcycles .

Unfortunately, in an attempt to enforce the ban at Idi- Araba, some okay riders have revolted which had created panic in the environs.

In some videos shared online, fire was already set and exchanges between the police officers and Okada riders could be seen.
