American singer, songwriter, and producer, Rodarius Marcell Green, known professionally as Rod Wave came through with this impressive song he labeled “Cold December”.
After a hiatus of nearly two months, “Cold December” serves as Rod Wave’s first release of 2022. Throughout the track, Rod sings about a woman who he has immense love for backed with a heavy Americana sound. The title of the track represents the feeling of loneliness around the holidays, but optimistically, Rod explains how he’ll have somebody to spend the holidays with.
“Cold December” first surfaced as a snippet through Rod’s Instagram story in the summer of 2021; being leaked shortly afterwards. Despite the track receiving a positive reception, Rod took to Instagram live in October and stated:
I’ll probably never drop that song, man. I gotta switch the verse around on that bitch.
The song was officially released on January 17, 2022 and was produced byTnTXD, ThatBossEvan, Luke Walker & ProducedbyJb.
