Team Nigeria has secured another gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, finishing ahead of England and Jamaica, in the 4*100m Women’s relay race.
Inspired by the Commonwealth Games 100m hurdle champion, Tobi Amusan, the Nigerian team on Sunday won the relay race with a new African record of 42.10 secs.
The team comprising of Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, Rose Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha emerged as winners of 4*100m Women’s relay race, making it Nigeria’s 11th gold medal in Birmingham and a historic Commonwealth Games medal.
Tobi Amusan started the race for Nigeria and expertly handed over the baton to Favour Ofili who won the medal for Nigeria.
Nigeria has now equalled her best-ever show at the Commonwealth Games and is on a course to make it the best ever with at least two more gold medal possibilities.
